African Development Bank

Every three years donor countries pledge funds to finance the work and services of the African Development Bank. Fundraising became an even greater challenge in 2009 as world markets reeled from economic crisis; aid effectiveness and ROI had to be strongly communicated beyond the typical technical reports donors received. We proposed using experiential media and storytelling to demonstrate the Bank’s results and led several multi-week shoots across Benin, Cameroon, Liberia, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia to gather content, in addition to working at headquarters in Tunis. The results? A stunning coffee table book, multiple videos, a photography exhibit, as well as fact sheets and a regular newsletter for donors. And the Bank received a 10.6 percent increase in donor contributions, totaling $9.5 billion for the following three years.
